about us
Hydro Sphere brings technology into the realm of commercial applications such as agriculture, irrigation, and turf management.
The basic product is a non-contacting, field-scale, soil moisture measurement sensor. It is utterly unique.
- Non-contacting: The self-contained sensor is placed above the ground, 3’ to 15’ typically. It does not touch the ground.
- Field-scale: The sensor measures the average soil moisture over a wide area, approximately 300 meters, to a depth of 0.75 meters.
The sensor system can be mounted above ground in a stationary location or a mobile system. It can also be mounted on a moving irrigation platform such as a center pivot. It continuously collects data and transmits it to a user web portal. Information about soil moisture, in various formats, is available to the user.
Cosmic Ray Soil Moisture (CRS) Measurements make use of changes in the naturally occurring secondary cosmic ray flux at the land surface to measure the average soil moisture over a wide area (~300 meters diameter).
Our company includes scientists and engineers who have worked in the Cosmic Ray Soil Moisture field for the past 15 years. Now we strive to bring this unique product to commercial applications such as agriculture. We are enthusiastic about this technology and its potential to save water and improve crop yields.
After more than a decade supporting universities and government organizations, we have learned the value of great service and great relationships. We take pride in our customer service and work to earn your trust with every interaction.
